While I realize this game is mostly about shooting down other fighters, I can’t tell you how pumped I was to sink some boats. And that’s exactly what you get with the aptly named 11th mission in Ace Combat 7, Fleet Destruction. Want some pointers on how to beat this one? It’s possible to make this mission hard on yourself, but with the right set up you can farm this with limited effort. Keep reading here at Nerds and Scoundrels for our Ace Combat 7 Mission 11 Walkthrough.
Ace Combat 7 Mission 11 Walkthrough
It’s a new mission, and you’ve got a new squadron with a new callsign. You are now Strider 1, leader of Strider Squadron. Your goal in this mission is simple: wipe out the hostiles. If you don’t come at this mission the right way, you can struggle. You’ll need to destroy a fleet as well as platforms, and do it all within a time limit.
You’ll need to approach this mission a certain way. If you play it right, you can clear it quickly. Do it wrong, and you’ll likely die to the navy or run out of time trying to kill the platforms.
There are a few planes you can use to make this mission easy. The key is to build them around long range combat. A Rafale loaded with cruise missiles is a strong option, but the most popular setup is a Su-33 with railguns. It largely depends on what you struggle with; railguns make killing the ships a breeze but it’s easier to take out hostile fighters with missiles.
Killing the Fleet
The best course of action is to wreck the fleet from range. With the railgun, you can kill any of the ships at up to 30,000 feet. That’s way out of range of their offensive capabilities. Target the carriers first, as you can kill them before they can scramble their fighters.
The trick with completing this with railguns is to fly directly at the ships. As you reach 30,000 feet from them, slow down to the point where you are just above stalling out. You have then lined up perfectly to blap the ships with your railgun. Repeat as necessary.
Killing the Platforms
This part of the mission hangs up a lot of players. If you fly around trying to shoot every AA gun or structure, you’re going to run out of time. That’s why you need to focus on the targets named “Core.” Destroying the platform cores will take out many of the other targets on the platform with it. It’s much more efficient than trying to destroy each target on the map.
